SCOPE :
Design, Supply, Install, Construction and Commissioning of a new 40 million liters per day water Treatment Plant to increase the current capacity of the existing Plant from 18 million liters per day to 58 million liters per day
Build a Water Treatment Plant robust enough to handle high water flows and equivalent pressures on the new plant at Palapye Water Treatment Works and comply with water quality standard BOS 32:2015
Installation of all associated Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Instrumentation equipment, construction of six (6) staff housing, access road and a Control Room.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE :
To meet the increased demand of Palapye, Serowe, Moruupule Mine, BIUST where the demand has increased drastically, since the existing Plant was constructed more t hen twenty (20) years ago. The forecast demand of the Plant is 2040
STATUS :
The project was completed on 3 February 2022 and was handed over to WUC on 11 February 2022 as planned and within budget
IMPACT :
The project was commissioned on 17 January 2022 and has since improved water supply to the Palapye and Serowe distribution network
